A much loved cousin who cared very much for nature and wildlife
In memory of David Shenton, who did so much to preserve and enhance Loch Ardinning. Such a kind, enthusiastic and knowledgeable man.
David moved in across the road as I was growing up. He was incredibly patient with my precocious teenage self and so good at sharing his knowledge and love of the natural world as well as encouraging my attempts at wildlife photography. I have particularly fond memories of puddling mud at Loch Ardinning and will always be grateful for his inspiration and friendship.
Jon had great respect for David , and much appreciated that they kept in touch every Christmas . I am sorry that I am unable to come up to Killearn to celebrate David's life. Jon would have been honoured to be present.
We met only a few times as adults, but I still have lovely memories of the days spent walking and chatting over lunch in Moffat.
